T Thread Self Drilling Anchor Bars

The Self Drilling Anchor system features a hollow threaded anchor bar integrated with a sacrificial drill bit. This design enables simultaneous drilling, anchoring, and grouting in one continuous operation, eliminating the need for separate drilling tools. It efficiently penetrates loose or fractured strata, with grout injected through the hollow bar to secure the anchor and enhance stability in slope reinforcement or tunnel support projects.

Description

SINODRILLS T thread Self-Drilling Anchor Bars

Hollow anchor bar is the body of a self-drilling anchor, as a hollow steel tube with an outer round thread, hollow anchor has the sacrificial anchor bit connected at one side, plate and nut connected at the other; two hollow anchor bars could be connected together via a coupling, for duties that requiring longer anchors.

Features

  • Deeper, Full-Teeth Thread Profile: This design features a trapezoidal thread with deeper teeth and a larger pitch than R-thread. This maximizes the contact area with the grout, achieving more than double the adhesive friction for superior load-bearing capacity in challenging ground.
  • Simultaneous Drilling & Grouting: The bar’s hollow core allows grout to be continuously injected through the center and out the bit while drilling. This stabilizes the borehole immediately and ensures a consistent, high-quality bond along the entire anchor length.
  • Arbitrary Cutting & Extension: The continuous external threading runs along the bar’s entire length, enabling the bar to be cut at any point and easily connected with couplers. This provides critical flexibility for installation in confined spaces or for deep anchoring needs.
  • Enhanced Load-Bearing Strength: Manufactured from high-quality steel and often cold-rolled, the T-thread bar boasts superior yield and ultimate load capacities. This makes T-thread the preferred choice for heavy-duty applications like foundation micropiles and demanding tunnel pre-support.

Applications

T thread Self-Drilling Anchor Bars (SDA) are vital components for ground support, combining drilling, anchoring, and grouting into a single efficient operation, making them highly effective in complex or unstable ground.

  • Tunneling and Mining Support: Used for rock bolting and face stabilization, the T thread’s deep-teeth profile ensures superior grout bonding in fractured rock and loose soil, securing the overhead strata.
  • Slope and Embankment Stabilization: They reinforce unstable soil and rock slopes to prevent landslides. The simultaneous grouting fills voids and bonds the bar to the ground, increasing the shear resistance of the mass.
  • Foundation Underpinning (Micropiles): Installed as small-diameter piles to transfer structural loads to deeper, stable strata, especially when retrofitting existing structures or in restricted, low-headroom access areas.
  • Soil Nailing and Retaining Walls: T thread SDAs act as soil nails to reinforce cut slopes and support excavation shoring. Their quick, casing-free installation is ideal for temporary and permanent earth retention systems.
